Nilima has taught documentary courses at The University of Vermont and Community College of VT, as well as at Davis Studio, Burlington’s Sustainability Academy, SLED Summer Camp, and on a Fulbright Fellowship in India.
For six years, Nilima taught self-designed documentary courses at UVM. One was a production course in which students used documentary and marketing techniques to promote local non-profits and support social issues. The other course focussed on feature-length social issue documentaries, with in-depth analysis on their effectiveness for charitable and environmental initiatives, as well as production and story-telling techniques. Both courses included an emphasis on academic writing.
