Eat Ice Cream - Not Apes!
When my brother and I learned about the "bushmeat" crisis, we wanted to raise money and awareness to protect the endangered species we loved. So, still in high school, we devised a series of ice cream flavors to do just that (click through the images below). The ideas received commendation from Jane Goodall and Peter Meehan, the CEO of Newman's Own Organics (who regretted his company wasn't able to do ice cream then). While we decided to finish our education, and ultimately put these aside, the joy of such ideation and the belief that fundraising could be fun (and tasty) has continued to inspire me, and serves as the partial namesake for Splice Cream.
Another flavor, not shown above is "Caramel Capuchin-O", for the Capuchin monkey.
The above posters are drafts of ideas to support good causes. These are meant for demonstration purposes only and some of the photos are owned by others.
Jeevodaya, Hope through Education
As an undergrad at UVM, I was teaching myself filmmaking and trying to incorporate it with my course work. This film is an early documentary attempt, which taught me a lot about filmmaking and what (not) to do.
